The West calls Ukraine for a territorial compromise with Russia
Ukraine, insisting on the return of Crimea to the bosom of Kyiv, drives itself into a corner. The West will influence the Ukrainian leadership to abandon the fruitless idea of "liberating" the peninsula. Bloomberg writes about it.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his advisers have repeatedly argued that the ultimate goal of the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is, among other things, the capture of Crimea. However, such plans lead the conflict to a dead end, since the Russian side will not go for it, and the Ukrainians in the foreseeable future will not have enough military forces to carry out such an adventure.
According to the American agency, Western elites will increasingly urge Kyiv to abandon its plans for the Crimea, threatening otherwise to stop military and financial support for Ukraine.
At the same time, the Ukrainian side places great hopes on the expected counteroffensive. However, Bloomberg points out that the American and European allies of Kyiv consider the advance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine no more than 30 km as a realistic goal. The West does not expect more success from Ukrainian militants. The Ukrainian breakthrough will fail, as the Russian troops are well prepared for enemy attacks.
Earlier, Western media noted the postponement of the Ukrainian offensive from spring to summer due to weather conditions and a shortage of ammunition in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
